Minister
Revd. Janet Capstick
Greetings from the church family at North Billingham. We are a lively and busy congregation sited in a growing community in the northern part of the town. The average number at worship is 60, but many more are involved though young people’s activities and a popular women’s meeting.
Many come for special services, such as baptisms, and comment on what a happy and friendly church we are.
Our Mission Statement
“We, the church, will provide a welcoming, worshipping fellowship and show our love for God by offering a Christian service to the community.”
Usual service times:
Sundays 10:00am & 6pm
Activities, groups and meetings
There’s a weekly prayer group, and a mission awareness group which helps the church to contribute about £1,000 annually to an outreach project. This year the money will go towards work with the mentally ill in Nigeria.
A potted history
We were 45 years old in this year (2007), a church plant in the early 1960’s when Billingham began to expand. Extensions have been added to the original building, to the rear and to the front (the latter was opened as we celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2002). We host various community activities, including a blood donor clinic and local councillors surgeries, and are involved in Churches Together in Billingham. Thanks to a committed group of men, the premises and grounds always look attractive and welcoming.
